Long Range Transportation Plan

Central Indiana 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan

Central Indiana

PROJECT SUMMARY.

Taylor Siefker Williams Design Group assisted the Indianapolis MPO with the development of various public outreach and informational materials related to the 2045 Long-Range Transportation Plan for Central Indiana. The Long-Range Transportation plan is the region’s primary transportation policy document. It must maintain no less than a 20-year planning horizon that is developed, adopted and updated by the MPO and approved by the Indianapolis Regional Transportation Council (IRTC) through the metropolitan planning process. The plan’s goals and recommendations provide guidance to the MPO and the IRTC members on how to allocate and spend federal dollars. Project types include Intercity Bus Service; Bus Rapid Transit (BRT); Active Transportation (including pedestrian and bicycle facilities); Streets & Highways; Interstates and Bridges.

As part of their work on the 2045 LRTP, TSWDG prepared templates for the plan document, including overall enhancement of the project branding and identification. A series of project informational handouts and maps were prepared to provide the technical information in a “user friendly” format suitable for distribution at public meetings and social media postings. In addition, TSWDG developed icons and infographics to further enhance the graphic dynamics of the plan process, screening process and associated recommendations.
