Grand Reserve at Bullitt County

Bullitt County, KY

PROJECT SUMMARY.

The Bullitt County Development, otherwise known as the Grand Reserve, is a proposed development in Shepherdsville, KY that establishes a gateway into Bullitt County and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The development is intended to be a unique destination in the heart of central Kentucky that celebrates the local context and is reflective of the bourbon aesthetic.

The primary property will include the Grand Reserve Hotel and Conference Center, Luxury Townhomes and Apartments, a Tourism/Welcome Center, a Restaurant and Artisan Hall, a Gas Station, and recreation areas. These amenities are organized along an internal road network with sidewalks and a roundabout entrance featuring public art by prominent local artists. The former fairgrounds property located north of the proposed development will be transformed into a horse farm with stables and sprawling pastures bordered by the black, four-board horse fencing that is typical of the Kentucky landscape. The property adjacent to the proposed development will include a small supermarket with strip retail and restaurant opportunities buffered by existing trees and native landscaping.

TSWDG was responsible for developing a conceptual master plan drawing and architectural designs to be included in the final renderings illustrating the intended character of the development. Multiple 3-D models were created of the site including the buildings, vehicular and pedestrian circulation, landscaping, and site features. A series of fly-through videos were developed to take visitors through the entire site to showcase the proposed design.
