Park and Recreation Design

Heritage Center at Stewart Park

Ellettsville, Indiana

PROJECT SUMMARY.

Taylor Siefker Williams Design Group worked with the Town of Ellettsville to develop a schematic design of a future park and public space known as the Heritage Center at Stewart Park. The site is located on the south side of State Road 46 across from the downtown core. Just a few months before this project kicked off, the Town received a $1.16 million dollar grant from Next Level Trails for the extensive of the Heritage Trail. This trail extension would run through Stewart Park providing a critical link between an existing segment of the Heritage Trail and the Karst Farm Greenway. Furthermore, the Town also received a READI grant to transform an existing, on-site barn into an indoor/outdoor community facility known as the Heritage Center.

The Stewart Park schematic design incorporated both the Heritage Trail extension and the future Heritage Center. Our team of landscape architects crafted an overall site plan and prepared a series of renderings to showcase the park features ranging from event parking and outdoor seating to internal walking paths and creative art displays.
