Highland Heights is developing a new greenspace plan for the public open space area adjacent to the municipal campus. Specific areas of focus for this greenspace exploration study focuses on community brainstorming sessions to identify interests and needs of the local residents for the improvements to the park space. As such, a series of community outreach workshops, survey’s and steering committee discussions were held to better identify the potential uses and unique amenities that would add value to the community. A Visioning Session and community picnic was facilitated in the park to provide an opportunity for residents to share input and feedback related to programming and facility enhancements. The goal of the Greenspace Study is to enhance this space for the community by creating a public amenity for everyone to enjoy. A preferred concept plan with feasibility recommendations related to funding and project phasing will be included as part of the study’s implementation recommendations.
