Taylor Siefker Williams Design Group worked in conjunction with CWC Latitudes and KW Consultants to develop the Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) and facilitate the logistics of their state site visit for the 2017 Stellar Communities Program. Throughout the development of the Strategic Investment Plan our team help facilitate meetings to gain additional feedback from the community as well as draft, format and deliver the final document.

The strategic investment plan for Madison proposed seven catalyst projects that would be complete over the stellar designation period. These projects aimed to enhance the nationally historic river town, revitalize and improve low-income neighborhoods, and connect the social, physical and economic divide between the hilltop and downtown. The Strategic Investment Plan includes the Madison Connector, a bike and pedestrian trail connecting Madison destinations; adaptive re-use of historic buildings, including renovation of the historic Ohio Theater; creation of a mixed-use facility in a former cotton mill; improvement of the riverfront park; overhauling the community gateways and neighborhood revitalization.

As a result of this planning effort, the City of Madison was selected as the 2017 Stellar Community Designee in Division I.
