We are pleased to share that our Berea Comprehensive Plan 2040 has been recognized by the American Planning Association- Kentucky Chapter with the Outstanding Use of Technology award at their Annual Awards Ceremony on Thursday, September 23rd at Lake Barkley. The City of Berea, Kentucky, located in the southern portion of Madison County, initiated their comprehensive plan update right as the COVID-19 Pandemic changed the way we worked, gathered and engaged. Berea committed to updating the comprehensive plan and quickly transitioned to a completely remote and virtual planning process, pivoting to using a variety of technology and other creative outlets to maintain the existing momentum of the community. The result was the City was able to complete their comprehensive plan – from initiation to adoption – all under the most challenging of circumstances during the past year. Congratulations to our friends at the City of Berea for this recognition.
