The Kentucky Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects recognized the Beargrass Preserve Master Plan with a Merit Award in the Planning and Analysis Category as part of their annual awards program. The Beargrass Preserve Master Plan This dynamic project presents a new park concept from the Louisville Olmsted Parks Conservancy that embraces the application of Olmstedian design principles within the context of a modern park. The plan includes a new headquarters for OPC’s offices as well as public gathering spaces, a network of trails and restored waterways.
Two projects were also recognized by the Indiana Chapter of the American Planning Association as part of their Hoosier Planning Awards. The Harrison County Planning Initiative received the Outstanding Comprehensive Plan award and the Orange County Community Center Needs Assessment was recognized with an Honorable Mention for Outstanding Outreach and Communication. Both of these projects are built upon extensive community outreach and grass-roots local planning that strengthen Indiana’s communities.
